I am a video and sound artist living and working in Northampton. Through installation I try and make meaning of memory referring to roles in the family, both perceived and actual . Since completing my MA Fine Art in 2008 from the University of Northampton, I have been working with local artists to produce creative workshops for young people, and of late, launching a Touring Cinema as our workshops branch into new media. We are very excited. Watch this space...
Both Sides Now (2008)
The Lullaby Singer is not the Mother (2006) is a looped video sculpture made from bed sheets and pegs forming a tent, with a back -projection of my brother asleep inside. The tent idea came from childhood memories of him making them as a boy. There is a further piece of footage that is projected above the tent. Carrying on the themes of childhood escapism, I have filmed myself in my mother's wedding dress emulating playing 'dress-up' and singing him a lullaby in a bid to get him to sleep.
